I like very much what you told your daughter, that her farm can become "the farm" to the family and to her kids. That is so, so true! Each new generation has a house in the family that becomes the special place, the gathering place. It's so good and wise to be able to shift and move on and change. Good for you! The memories stay forever, of course. My grandparents home on the hill in WV is that "place" for me.M.K.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09205619221345704689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5786951846629057059.post-91236858729890411282016-10-12T03:47:21.649-07:002016-10-12T03:47:21.649-07:00I might try that sometime! :) Thanks, Jody!I might try that sometime! :) Thanks, Jody!Lisa Richardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00567160304529796810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5786951846629057059.post-47698824046703962392016-10-12T03:46:25.037-07:002016-10-12T03:46:25.037-07:00Thank you, Dori! It needs lots of work. The logs are not in good shape and there's no central heat. We just had a woodstove which doesn't heat the basement. Anyway, I think the close proximity to the neighbors makes it less than ideal as a vacation spot, lol. It's a losing battle, trying to hold on to even the memories, much less the things that were their beginning. The Lord is making you a blessing today and in the place where you are now.GretchenJoannahttp://www.gretchenjoanna.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5786951846629057059.post-22835874673643736272016-10-09T19:27:59.875-07:002016-10-09T19:27:59.875-07:00I can see why both you and your daughter feel sad ...I can see why both you and your daughter feel sad about what's happening to your old place. I hope you'll find just the right piece of land to start new memories.
As usual your artwork is great. Wish I could draw. Today my GS asked me to draw a werewolf
( Halloween must have brought that on) and we laughed ourselves silly over my efforts. He declared the "nose" looked like a pig's nose. And it did.Granny Marigoldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15858237999602347848noreply@blogger.com
