Belated Thanksgiving Greetings!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and were able to gather with loved ones in some form or fashion. I awoke not feeling well on Thanksgiving, so plans to join the family next door had to be scrapped. Micah delivered some food to my door and it was delicious! Otherwise, I just vegged and watched lots of YouTube videos. I had a temp of 98.6, which is about a degree high for me, lol. But, no, not the 'rona virus. Just regular stuff. Still feeling under the weather today. My granddaughters have delivered several drawings they made of the Thanksgiving feast. I feel like I was there! I think that's a cherry pie on the bottom. I know Adam made one and intends to make another pie today! :)

The kids have been enjoying the small amount of wet snow we have right now.

Something interesting happened on a Facebook book group I'm part of. (Inspirational Regency Readers) One of the gals on there has the same maiden name as me. (Foreman) She also mentioned that she's going to college to study geneaology. (BYU-She's Mormon and I think they are sort of known for their interest in geneaologies.)  Well, I couldn't pass up that obvious opportunity. I said, "Suppose we're related?" She was wondering the same thing. So I shot her a copy of a short geneaology my uncle made years ago. She shot me a PM back saying that my great-grandfather, Ulysses Grant Foreman, (yes, that's his real name) was her 9th cousin, 4 times removed! I don't see any reason for her to lie about it, so I'm thinking it's pretty cool. I just recently figured out what a first-cousin-once-removed was, so this type of relation is sort of a mind bender for me, ha ha. Anyway, that was fun. I suppose we'll keep in touch via Facebook.

Gretchen, you mentioned that you didn't see the first 6 of my 12 Days of Christmas cards. I don't see them either! I checked back to some older posts. So, I'll try to post them here again. Then I'll probably have a huge list of CRRR cards. (The ones where I make a background and two others add things. So they don't look like much here.)

(Update: I later realized that I had taken a post down temporarily to do some editing. That's where these photos were hiding, lol.)

And here come the CRRRs, if my computer cooperates.

Quite the hodge-podge of cards. As I've complained before, my photos show up willy nilly all out of order on my memory card, so it can be confusing to know what I've already posted. Not to worry. Just ignore them. Ha ha.

Well, I'm getting a little cross-eyed from wrestling with the photos, so I'm off for now. I'll come back and read blogs later. Thanks for all your nice comments!

Have a great weekend and shalom, everyone!

Happy birthday to me!

 Woo hoo! 64!

I saw the neighbor's dogs watching something intently, and when I checked out the window I saw a troupe of grandchildren marching toward my house! It was 9 a.m., so kind of a surprise for my birthday.

Actually, I had forgotten it was the big day. They came bearing donut holes!

Oh, and birthday cards!

I hadn't really intended to create a post this morning, but just had to share my grandkid's sweet little birthday surprise. But as long as I'm here I'll attach the rest of my "Twelve Days of Christmas" ATCs. (The first 6 were in my last post.) Yeah, that's me milking the cow...

Backwoods selfie. Wish I could have figured out how to delete this, lol! Hope you love my lounging clothes.
Backwoods pour over. :)

It's a sunny, cold day today. I may do some card making and stay indoors a lot. During hunting season I don't like to walk along the roads. I need to get a blaze orange jacket! I've been watching a lot of "politics and religion" videos lately. Maybe I'll do a little more artsy stuff today.

I discovered yesterday that my brother, James, who lives in Montana, has started a YouTube channel where he has little Bible studies. If you're curious, his channel is called "Talking About Jesus with James and Charla". It's fun to be able to keep tabs on family!

And now, a colorful creation to send you on your way. (By Audrey)

Shalom for now!

Not changing yet?

 Good morning mango juice!

Well, it's a springlike morning here in the north country. I'm still hanging out at the farm, and maybe will be until next spring or summer. My application is still in place for an apartment, but I'm hoping that moves along slowly. I don't want to lose my place in line when the time comes that I actually need the apartment.

This cheeky bluejay has been stealing the cats' food. :)

I kind of figured things wouldn't go as quickly with finishing the house and getting it ready for sale as the kids planned. They are optimists, bless their hearts. Financing finally came through, after the usual setbacks, but then wintery weather had arrived. Adam works outdoors in heated tarp shelters all winter and he didn't want to do that when he got home from work, so they decided that outside work would have to wait for spring. However, we're having very warm weather this week, so he's jumping on some projects like pouring cement footings for the rock work on the front of the house, and a sidewalk, steps and a patio. He's taken the week off from work because it's suddenly in the 50's, which is perfect. Things do take longer when you have a little troupe of kids following you around, but Adam's pretty patient.

This is Sully after doing...

this...
All of this snow is gone now. This picture was taken in the last week or so. We usually don't have much snow until November...which is now.

Prepping for the big snowball fight.

And this is what it looks like today. Good working weather!
I've spent the last few days (four days?) lollygagging around with a sore lower back. I could hardly get up and around the first couple of days. It has resolved itself pretty quickly and today I'm almost back to normal, but still a little stiff. I've missed my walking, so I'd better get going on that again.

I've been entertaining myself with YouTube and reading and a little bit of card making. I'm currently reading A Praying Life by Paul Miller and I think I'll re-read Another Gospel by Alisa Childers. We've been discussing this book on a Facebook book group and I'm realizing how little I actually retained the first time through! I've gotten a start on Evidence That Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell, but I think that's going to take the better part of a lifetime to read.

I can't believe I failed to make a wonderful announcement in October! Grandchild #17 arrived on the scene, in Ft. Worth, TX, on October 8th! My son, Jordan, and daughter-in-law Brooke gave birth (Well, Jordan was present!) to little River May who weighed in at 8 lb. 5 oz. and 19" tall. (Long?) River is their first child, and she's a girl. (I know River can be a boy or girl name.) They are so excited! (Wish I could figure out how to get a pic of her here. I only know how to get them directly from my camera card.)

Speaking of grandkids, my oldest step-son, Bob and his wife Tiffany are expecting a little boy at Thanksgiving time. (#18!)

Well, so much for all the birth announcements. On a more mundane level, I've been doing a series of 12 ATCs for a swap called "The Twelve Days of Christmas". I've finished 9, but don't have photos of all of them. But just so I can put some photos at the end here, I'll show you what I've got.

I just glanced out the window and noticed that Adam has begun his rock work! Micah came out to assist. Woo hoo! Can't wait to see how it looks. Cheap country thrills, eh?
That's all I can muster at the moment. And I didn't even mention the "E" word once. (You know...election?) Praying for quick and accurate results and a peaceful attitude in this country.

See you next time!
Shalom to all!
