Coming up for air!

Hello, folks! I've just been visiting blogs and was inspired and cheered by you all. I think I've just come through a bout of the Covid. The symptoms weren't severe (though dreary enough), but did drag on and on for a couple of weeks. I'm still feeling tired, a little wheezy, tastebuds acting up a bit and the hands are a little shakey. But I think I'm on the mend. (Of course I didn't go to the doctor. This is a self-diagnosis.) Fighting "the blues" right now, so I appreciated the uplifting words on your blogs! Keep up the good work!

I'm thinking of heading to the post office to check my box and maybe take a little walk on the trail. I've walked a couple of times in the last week. Micah and Adam's family were sick, too, and we're finally out and about again. They had a shorter-lived illness. Anyway, enough about that!

I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos to hear some good teaching and talking about Jesus. That helps the most. It's also nice to just have human voices in the house. Living alone can get too quiet sometimes!

I'm doing all the pre-Medicare stuff, (turning 65 next month) which involves filling out forms and such. Not a good time for that, but I'm trying to just get it done and trust the Lord for the outcome. He can take care of me no matter what. All we can do is our best, right?

And now, in no particular order, some things I've been doing via photos.

We're starting a new APC series called "Cats and a Little Something Extra". We'll eventually do a whole deck. You just need to include a cat and something extra, which can be anything you like. This deck has camouflage edges and a deer in the middle, so they look a little weird.

These are for an APC series I'm doing in the Round Robin group. So these will be added to by two more people.

For a "Found Poetry/Prose" swap. You just cut out random words of text and make a weird message. Got to use some of my vintage magazine images!

These were for a House Shaped swap with a "Blue" theme. More retro images.

A Trick or Treat swap... (mostly cut out of an old Richard Scarry book!)

In this swap we were supposed to use a stamp that represented a particular organization.

ATCs about Christmas in London, Paris and New York.

Another Christmas swap. All collage.

Well, I do believe that's it for the ATCs! I sure am glad it takes you less time to look at them than it does for me to post them! :)

And this is what I'm currently reading. Kind of interesting. He's a cold case homicide detective who is looking for evidence of Jesus's life using sources other than the Bible.
And now, I think I'll have a snack and head to the trail as I mentioned earlier.

Thanks for stopping by and for all of your lovely comments! Love y'all!

Shalom!

  1. I'm sorry you were sick and now it's taking a while to get back to your usual self. Hopefully you have a nice sunny Fall so you can go walking. I always find that helps me feel better.
Love all your ATC's especially the house-shaped ones with good old Richard Scarrey pics.

  6. It sounds like you got the really bad kind of COVID, the "long haul" COVID I think it's called. Weakens a person for a long time, ugh. I hope the fresh air will help you feel stronger! I love all of your ATCs and being a crazy cat lady of course my eyes go to the kitty deck! But I just love the captions you chose for your retro fashions cards!

  10. I hope you're doing well be now. I wanted to respond to your comment about reading Wendell Berry. The first of his books that I read was Hannah Coulter ( It's been a while but I think that was the title), and I think you'd really enjoy that one. In this latest book that I'm reading he brings in some of the characters from his previous books.

  11. God bless and heal you up, Dear Lisa. I think I had it, too, back at the very beginning; that was the time I wondered if my "youth" had gone for good -- because I was so wiped out for a while.

I did revive, and I think you will, too. You are young!
