WOYWW?!?

What's on My Workdesk today? (It's actually Tuesday, but those of us on this side of the pond have to get a head start on things!)
Well, it may not look like much, but I'm outlining a book I've had playing out in my mind for YEARS. I keep putting off working on it because I tend to be an all-or-nothing type. (If I can't write it all today, I won't even start. Or something ridiculous like that!)

Anyway, my hubby is down at the local high school enjoying a basketball game, so I thought I'd take advantage of the peace and quiet to work on this outline. To the right of my computer you see my tinwhistle. This is another of my loves that has gone by the wayside because of college work. But I'm working on learning "Concerning Hobbits". It's fun to get it out and dust it off and do a little something. I probably won't have much time once school begins again on Monday. But why not enjoy it while I can?
So, I'm off to do those two things! Have a great WOYWW everyone! And if you don't know what WOYWW IS go to Julia's blog where you can get the hang of things!

My favorite New Year sentiment:

I said to the man
who stood at the gate of the year,
'Give me a light that I may tread safely
   into the unknown.'
   And he replied ,
   'Go out into the darkness
and put your hand into the hand of God.
   That shall be to you
   better than light
and safer than a known way !'
   So I went forth
and finding the Hand of God,
trod gladly into the night .
And he led me towards the hills
and the breaking of day in the lone East.

  1. Another tin whistle player, wahoo!! I taught myself to play when we visited Scotland a couple of years ago. I love playing folk music and mournful songs, the sounds suits the instrument I think!
Good luck with the novel outline, that is something I admire tremendously and know I could never attempt :)

    1. Wish I spent more time practicing my tinwhistle, but I figure it's something I can work on for a lifetime! The novel, too, lol!

  2. Looks like some fun stuff! Music is my stress-reliever, especially during school times. Piano and now guitar. I bet tinwhistles are nice because they're ultra-portable!

Hope your next semester goes well!

    Blessings!

  3. I haven't seen a tin whistle for years. Bet it sounds great. I admire anyone who can make music of any kind.
Have fun and thanks for stopping by earlier.

  8. Hi Lisa, writing can be one of the hardest things to actually get down to although I was told by someone a lot wiser than me that all you had to do was sit down and write! Have you read Anne Lamott's book, Bird by Bird - could give you just the encouragement you need. Thanks for popping over to mine and leaving a comment. Elizabeth x #69
