Back to the Sea swap...

I really enjoyed this swap. I think animals are my favorite subjects to draw. These will be hard to mail off but I think, ultimately, it's more fun to share them than to keep them cooped up in a sketchbook!

Sea Dragon (the coolest undersea animal ever!)

Hermit Crab

Lion Fish

Sea Star

Another fun swap completed!

I also completed a swap called Invaded Pictures. This was more of a collage challenge so I wasn't sure I even wanted to post them here since they weren't drawn...but...I think I will!
The idea was to take a picture from a magazine and add something unexpected.

So there you go!
Now I'm headed over to Backwoods Crazy Quilt!

Yippee! I've got mail!

A fun little envelope arrived today containing four cards with a honeybee theme. This is what these swaps are all about: fun art from around the world!

I just finished up four more cards for the Invaded Pictures swap. You find a picture from a magazine and add something unexpected to it. I'm not sure how well I met the requirement, but there ya go!

Hey, I've actually finished up all the swaps that I'm currently signed up for! I'll have to go in search of a new one! :)

It's cooling down here and for that we are grateful!

Shalom all!

Drawing whimsical houses...

I hope it's not too boring that all I do is post pics of my current ATC swaps. I'm kind of doing it to keep a record. Since I'm mailing these off to the ends of the earth, and a lot of effort goes into them, I just can't bear to not keep photos of them. I tell myself they may give me ideas for greeting cards or something like that in the future. Not committing to that, but it's an interesting thought. :)

SO, here are my cards for the Whimsical Houses swap! (Drum roll...)

Actually, I store copies of these photos in my gallery at ATCs for All, here, and in a Facebook photo album, besides in my computer. I don't trust technology! YEARS ago a site where I had created a little homeschooling webpage (before there was such a thing as blogs) was discontinued. After spending at least a couple of years compiling all sorts of homeschool information, they just decided to change to a different format and my webpage was changed (ruined) beyond recognition. The changeover never did work. So NOW I'm hoping there's safety in numbers of places to store things. Of course, any of this can disappear, too. If that happens you just have to let go. You can't take it with you.

Thanks for looking, listening and dropping by!
Shalom!

Two, two, two swaps in one post...

I mailed off my ATC's for the Realistic Fruit and Vegetable swap, so here are the close-ups...

dragon fruit

eggplant

raspberry

turnip

Today I finished my cards for the Scavenger Hunt swap. You could use any media (collage, paint, colored pencil, etc.) but you had to include a fake coin, a tea bag, a bingo card, a skull and a paper clip. I have to buy some paper clips, but they're finished other than that. These took a lot more time than the ones I just paint! (I may not do these very often!)

Fun, fun, fun!
Shalom on your day.

WOYWW!

Sorry, I missed last week! It was sort of hectic at work and I didn't have much oomph left for anything. But here I am, ready to visit desks around the globe as a partaker of the merriment in that thing which we like to call What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday!

To keep it short and sweet, here is my desk today. I've been painting watercolor ATC's of fruits and veggies for a swap. The four on the left just need some ink details before mailing. ATC's are about the only art I do these days. I think it's good practice for something bigger eventually.

I also received two great ATC's this week. The one in the upper right was from Linda at ATC's for All. Isn't it glorious? The one in the lower left corner is from Peggy at PeggyAplseeds, which was made for the WOYWW4 celebration. So pretty! You can see closer photos in my previous post.

I've been having a great day off drawing and painting. What could be better than that? I hope everyone has a great WOYWW. Have fun visiting desks all over this spinny ball we call Earth.

P.S.-I didn't actually get linked up to WOYWW this week. Oh well...I guess I'm playing by myself!

Shalom!

Yay! Received some beautiful ATC's today!

I just had to share the two ATC's I received today.

Thanks so much to Peggy for this beautiful ATC commemorating the 4th anniversary of WOYWW. It's just wonderful like all of Peggy's art!  This card came all the way from the Philippines, which makes it even more amazing! :)

The second card came from Linda. We each did a card with a Messianic flavor. I met Linda at ATC's for All and this was a personalized trade where we each choose the theme we want for our card. I think this is absolutely gorgeous! I will treasure this depiction of The Lion of Judah who is also known as my savior, Jesus. Thanks, Linda!

That's all for tonight. It's late!!
Shalom to all who read this.

The Prang Challenge...

These are the cards I made for the Prang Challenge swap. We were supposed to use only Prang watercolors. Not crazy about all of them. Oh well...

I know...the rainbow willow is familiar. But it fit the theme!

The last two would be my favorites. I really like the blue that comes in the set!

I had a long, hard day of frying chicken today. I fried over 1,000 pieces of chicken. No kidding! (And things were getting kind of tense toward the end of my day. Sheesh!) Tonight and tomorrow I plan to RElax!

Y'all have a great 4th!
Shalom!
