Photo album progress...

This is yesterday's sunset behind the evergreens. I liked how the sun was cradled in the trees.

 

I finally got back to working on the kids photo albums yesterday. I had a little pile on top of each album and now they've been put in page protectors and inserted in albums. I've only scratched the surface, but it's a beginning.

A real scrapbooker would gasp in horror at my idea of a photo album. I'm really just trying to get the photos organized and somewhat protected. The kids can do something fancier later if they want to.

 

 I tried to give each of them a sampling of pictures from their youth so they would have pictures of brothers/sister to look at later and show their children.  (This is Micah at her first fair with her pony Frosty. I had a pony named Frosty when I was about 10. Mine was just a little taller.)

 I started off with ancient relatives and photos of Bob and myself as children and teens as well as grandparents.

 Here's a pile of taekwondo related photos I still have to sort through. I'm trying very hard to keep the photo albums down to a manageable size! There will still be a large plastic tote full of loose photos that they can dig through if they want more. Otherwise I will bequeath it to my daughter and she can figure out where to store it! :)

 

 This is my favorite way to enjoy photos of my kids.

 I also have pics of Bob when he was a little boy. That's how I like to remember him. Healthy and happy! I wonder how old we will be in heaven?

Thanks, Pom Pom, for this little book. I'm finally getting a chance to read it. I think I'll finish it today. It's always nice to be encouraged to use our creative urges for the glory of God.

See the plastic folder under the book? It contains a 14 page history of my life in a nutshell. I wrote it for my younger brother. I'm still adding things to it. We've been out of contact for so many years, I thought it was a good way to get caught up. We visit on the phone, but have problems understanding each other because of static (and old ears?). I wanted to cover a lot of information in a form he can keep, and then we can chat about more recent events on the phone. I'll be sending him updates via snail mail. 

 

Audrey and Hazel made me these sweet little salt dough impressions of their hands for Christmas. Unfortunately, they have dried out so much that they're splitting down the middle. So, I decided to Mod Podge them like crazy and glue them to a cardboard back. I'll trim them after the glue dries.

 I think I've overdone my computer time, as usual, and I'm feeling drowsy. So, I'll make this short and get onto other things.

Have you ever noticed that gnomes never seem to be bothered by the cold? And someone always seems to supply them with a warm bowl of porridge! They must be appreciated for all the good things they do. :)

My after-work activities...

It was a slow, relaxed day at the deli. A nice change from the hectic Christmas experience.

After work I bought the ingredients to make my infamous Chicken Mexican hotdish (casserole?).

But before any cooking could take place I must feed the cats.

 

Do you see how many toes this kitten has? At least six that I can count. We have a long history of extra-toed cats around here.

 

 

These tracks were made by our resident crows. They show up to finish off whatever the cats don't eat.

 

And here are two of those six-toed kittens chowing down on leftovers from the deli.

This is the closest I came to a New Year's resolution. I wrote this list a couple of weeks ago. Trying to prioritize...again! You may have to click on the picture to be able to read it.

(Open Door Church is where my son, Jordan, is the worship director. I love watching them live on my laptop!)

Two more resolutions: drink more water and take my multi-vitamins!

 

I've been Googling information on reindeer. Or is it reindeers? They spelled it both ways. I have a fascination with these critters and the people who raise them. This led to a search for images and info on Tomtens/Gnomes. I found a lot of fun images.

I especially loved this artist's frayed rendition of a Tomten.

He was on Pinterest!
