The Three Set Foot on Terra Firma Once Again!

It was a cold and blustery Minnesota night when my hubby rescued The Three travellers from a chilly fate...inside our mailbox. He quickly ushered them into the warm house and placed their cold toes close to the crackling woodstove. They were very appreciative!

Because they had been served a late meal in route, we said our goodnights and they quickly snuggled down into the little sleeping spot we had prepared for them in the loft of our log cabin. (We haven't quite gotten moved to our new place!) I will look in on them later to see if they need a quilt. At the moment the house is quite toasty, thanks to our trusty woodstove.

We couldn't put them to bed without first posing them with my laptop as proof of their arrival. They loved my desktop picture of Jerusalem!

I was aghast at the thought of putting my own picture online, but I see it's a requirement of all WITW hostesses. I'm really not bald, as my picture might suggest. I just wear my hair pulled back in a braid. (I'm seriously thinking of changing my hair-do after seeing this photo.) Anyway, I'm looking forward to adding my touches to this wonderful copy of The Wind in the Willows.

I will follow up with more news as our adventure continues. I hope to take The Adventurers to visit The Ancient Swamp Willows of Nevis which grow in our pasture. Their leaves have gone for the winter, but I thought it might help the boys not to feel so homesick for their own willows back home.

Goodnight, all!

  1. Yippee! In honor of their arrival, I shall do a little Willows reading, too!
I'm sure they love the woods and the cabin loft!
I wish I was traveling in the envelope so I could have tea before the fire with my sweet friend - YOU!
I am getting my hair cut tomorrow. I feel like it's dragging me down and getting in my way! We'll see! YOUR face is delightful and I love your glasses. Thank you for picturing the book! I miss it! I'm going to cherish it forever when it comes back (probably next year!) Have fun and thank you SO MUCH for posting today! (BIG HUG!)

  3. What a charming visit you've shared in this post and the following! Your teapot is indeed appropriately woodsy, and in spite of the cold I'm sure the fellows were sad to leave the warmth of heart to journey on again....
