WOYWW, even though it's really Monday...

Okey, so I just wanted to participate in WOYWW, though these photos are from Monday. But this is what is still sitting on my workdesk! So here we go!

I'm trying to trick  myself into commiting to training for some 5k's this summer. One way of doing this is to invest in a new pair of shoes. These were actually some of the cheaper shoes ($69) but, since I'm not going for the Olympics, I thought they would do just fine. I thought I would immortalize them in pen, ink and paint.

This salesman could have sold ice to an eskimo, so I bought a can of waterproofing spray. Would you spray waterproofing on shoes that are made of mesh and are supposed to "breathe"? Anyway, Bob can use the stuff on his shoes! :D  See my model posing?

The finished artwork...

Well, it was my first attempt at shoes. At least I did a little art! I think shoes compare to cars in being difficult to capture (for me, anyway). So maybe I'll try drawing a car sometime...

If you'd like to visit more workdesks all around the world go to Julia's blog and hit the links! :D

Shalom for now!

  1. I think it looks great! And now, you have a spare shoe, right? -- if you need it :)

  2. Brilliant! It's so good having bouncy, new trainers...they really give you a boost!
Perhaps you should paint wings on them to go faster in the 5k run!
Your drawings are so good, Lisa. I especially love the horse on your blog header...he has the nobility of a unicorn!
    Have a lovely day,
    xx Alex
