WOYWW!

Here we go again! I didn't get very far visiting desks last week, but every week we get to try anew!

I'm up to various things; some artsy, some not so much. I'm not sure why this shot is partially out of focus, partially in focus. My little camera is quite mysterious!

My desk is mainly populated by books at the moment. I have this crazy idea about writing a book for the young adult crowd. I thought I would do a little research first by reading this rather old book on writing. I bought it at the library book sale when it was removed from the shelves. I'm hoping the advice contained therein is "timeless" since it was written in the '60's! I also checked out several books just to look at for various age levels.

Any money earned in my literary career is earmarked to pay back student loans! ;)

The only artwork on my desk is this little watercolor cross that I may use on my blog for Easter. It needs some work. Also, on my slanty top desk you can see my sketchbook which has a sketch of one of my little granddaughters. It doesn't look much like her, so I won't show it up close, but I have done some sketching in the last couple of days.

Hope you all have fun racing around the globe peeking at others' messy desks! Go to Julia's blog to follow the trail of fascinating links!

  1. hi Lisa, all the best in your project to write a book! i guess you need some young adults to test it out on! i love the pics of your oh so cute grand kids (of course they are too young to be your test subjects)!

  2. Hi there, haven't seen you for a while, hope you are all ok!
Now you see, that's the difference between us....you are being really sensible doing all the research before you dive into the whirlpool of fiction writing...I would just dive in with no preparation whatsoever....and that is why you will, succeed and I would sink without trace, lol!!! Good Luck with it all :)

  3. Lisa, thank you for leaving a sweet comment for me. Your drawings are lovely. The horse on your banner grabbed my attention; I have 3 of these angels in my barn. My special guy is 30 years young. We both retired from riding last summer. Hugs...Charlotte

  4. You've been busy! I love writing too, but my dream is to publish a children's picture book someday. Your watercolor cross looks lovely, so I can't wait to get a better view next week. Happy WOYWW and have a blessed Resurrection Sunday!

  5. HI Lisa! Lovely watercolor cross picture. Good Luck with the YA book. I write a little of everything. I am a freelance journalist as well as write fiction and craft articles. I'm not sure I could do YA. The content has changed from when I was YA LOL. Happy Writing and Creative Blessings! Kelly #158

  10. How blessed you are with an abundance of talent for both art and writing and, most importantly, grandmothering, Lisa! Such beautiful children on your salad bar!!

Seriously, good luck with your writing! I thought you might enjoy it if I said to you what you said to Karen above: "Just jump in and don't worry about doing it like anybody else." Interesting, isn't it?!
