Artist Trading Cards...never thought I would...

I must admit, I never thought I'd get into ATC's, but after looking over the site at ATC's For All I thought this might be a good way to set myself goals to do art on a more regular basis. The 2.5" by 3.5" size would seem to make them faster to complete while still requiring some creativity to come up with ideas. The smorgasbord of swap themes is irresistable! So, I've signed up for two swaps and have 6 cards to make between now and the middle of June. I'm excited!

These supplies, along with my colored pencils, paints and pens will be all I need to begin trading cards. Hopefully I will restrain myself from becoming overcommitted!

I've signed up to make 3 cards with self-portraits. I also need to show some area of interest in my life on each card. My second swap theme is Books, Books, and More Books! Three pieces of mini-art depicting books in some way. I'll post them when I'm finished. (BTW, our local Walmart is suddenly stocking better quality brands of art supplies; at least the watercolor paper! Yay!)

This is not intended to be an end in itself, but rather inspiration to practice drawing and painting which I hope the Lord can use in some way.

Vaya con Dios and Shalom! :)

  1. Oh the atcs are my favorite way to push myself and learn. So I don't get over committed I try to get the atc done before I sign up for the swap. Can't wait to see your work!!

  2. I've often heard about ATC's and wondered if they are worth doing. I went into a craft shop one day and saw some...they seemed so tiny! I don't know if I would be able to work so small (well, perhaps with the help of strong glasses) LOL.
