My first painting for Inspiration Avenue challenge...
The challenge this week at Inspiration Avenue is to paint something inspired by the painting "Primavera". Something from your soul. Something about spring. This little painting represents the promise of spring.
A lovely promise of new life happening unseen by the eye!! Good to keep in mind as autumn is happening here in South Africa and as much as you all are looking forward to spring, we have to look forward to winter - not my favourite season. Thank you for entering IA.
The determination of the bud to feel the sky! How wonderful, Lisa! I am enjoying your great talents at first hand as I read through Pom Pom's Wind in the Willows! Your additions are fabulous! I know that the book will just delight Pom Pom's heart by the time it gets home to Denver!
Thanks for your encouraging words! The WITW experience was so much fun. It's also fun to know that little book will live in Pom Pom's house and give her much joy! :)
Oh yes it definitely symbolises & beautifully illustrates the promise of spring. It is so wonderful to imagine seeds & early growth under the ground waiting to emerge and surprise us with their beauty. My favourite part of the painting though is the top half with the wonderful silhouettes on the blue sky - very pretty.
This is full of hope. It could be dark and barren above, but the patient seed will wait, eventually come up from the ground, and become a pretty flower. Thank you for showing your work here! <3
I love thinking about the unseen world under the ground, which is working hard all through the winter to burst out in the spring. Such a sweet and thoughtful representation! I love it!
I'm not usually this late visiting a challenge member, but last week was difficult in that it involved a tornado and lots of bad weather, which made it hard to catch up with all my blog visits. This is a gorgeous painting. I like how spring is still hidden under the earth, but will soon be visible for all to see. This is fantastic and quite the allegory, too! Welcome to IA, too.

ReplyDeleteI know how you feel as winter comes on. I feel the same way, especially here in northern Minnesota! But spring WILL come again! :D

Sometimes it's like we can hear the shoots beginning to move underground - your piece really captures that :)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful depiction for spring in waiting. I have another six months till spring, but I love the change of seasons, and seeing all the new life.
ReplyDeleteGreat work! Love the simplicity and honesty of this and I like the contrast of warm and cool! <3
ReplyDeleteYou and I were in the same thought pattern this week, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteA seed stretching toward the warmer sky...love your interpretation :)

Great interpretation of the theme this week. The seed is just about ready to sprout.
