I've been procrastinating on beginning this journal for a while. I made one false start, trying to gesso the text pages, then realizing I didn't have the right paints to work on that surface. Now I'm gluing a couple of text pages together, then gluing watercolor paper on top of that. Now I can just paint with watercolors and use pen, which is what I prefer. Maybe later I'll try acrylics, but for this journal I'll go this direction.
It's SUNNY! Time to get ready for work. I'm looking forward to Monday when I can spend the whole day on art and other delights! :D
Have a great day filled with shalom!
What a fantastic idea! I've been thinking about having different journals for different purposes or themes, but I struggle to complete what I've already commited to doing, ie 29 Faces Challenge, so this will remain on the backburner until next month. Good on you for making a start. I love the letterings on the side!
ReplyDeleteI've been a little overcommitted on challenges myself. I'm thinking I'll have more time for the journal when the 29 Faces Challenge is over. I want to really concentrate on the journal after that. :)
DeleteVERY fun, Lisa! I like your idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Glad you dropped by, Pom!
DeleteI love this. You started with a regular book? I started something similar, in an old book on the beatitudes, which was my Dad's. Your words about the WHY of it are exactly my thoughts... For my kids and grand kids to learn about me, and also I imagine myself in old age enjoying looking through my journals. Shalom back at ya. I need to go revive my blog... Life is too full...
