First, I got a travel case of watercolors. I've never had watercolors wrapped in little packages. I'm a big girl now! I had to refer to the little pamphlet to see how to open them and put them in the watercolor box, hee, hee!
I wrote down the names of the colors in my notebook so I would remember them. See my note above the colors? It's something I wrote as a prompt for my scripture journal. I may not NEED paints, but the Lord was good to me and gave me some WANTS today! Thank you, Lord! :D
My new set, all ready to use...
I also got a box of gouache paints. I've never tried them, but I thought maybe they would be more forgiving than watercolors? At least, they will be a new experience!
I also got a big jar of Gesso, so I can try it on my altered book pages and some Mod Podge for the same purpose. Then I picked up a thingy to hold my brushes and some water! I'll miss my old jars of water. Maybe I'll have to have them visit now and then. :) I also got a tablet of watercolor paper.
My fancy new watercolors and gouache will have to live in the basket with my more humble watercolor boxes. I think it will help them not to think too highly of themselves. Let's stay grounded folks!
As far as what I'm actually working on today, I'm taking the 29 Faces challenge at Ayala Art. Today was the first day and I drew this interesting woman.
One last shot and I'm off to visit desks!
Sorry this is so long, but I know you all understand the thrill of getting new art goodies! :) Oh, and next week I may have a new old desk. Mine is getting pretty cramped, and though I love it, I have another decrepit desk that is a little roomier. We'll see if I get around to swapping them!
To visit more desks go to Julia's blog at The Stamping Grounds !
Shalom and happy artsy stuff!
Looks like you have spent that bonus very well, Lisa. Your new painty goodies look beautiful. I had to smile at you keeping your new paints grounded. It would never do for them to get to full of themselves would it.
ReplyDeleteI love my gesso, it's out all the time.
Have fun with it all.
Happy WOYWW

Oh! She looks so sad.... Her face tells a bit of a story doesn't it. One thing I wish I could do is draw!! Still, I have just secured a place on an Art course at college so now I can learn :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your new goodies!!
