A famous quote...

Today's homework assignment for Sketchbook Skool was to do some hand lettering using a quote. I used a quote from one of my favorite people...Hazel. She was explaining how the boo-boo on her arm had come to be.

I think I kind of overdid it.

Is this version better?

No, no. You don't really have to answer! The main point was to practice some hand lettering. I made too big a deal out of it. Sometimes simpler is better...

I'm off to post my drawing on the Sketchbook School site. We're having another really cold spell. Glad I get to stay home this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by!

Shalom.

  1. Both are cute but I prefer the second one myself. I'm glad you get to stay home cozy and warm. The rain is pouring down here and supposedly will do so all day tomorrow as well. But it's a mild 5C ( 40 F) so it could be worse.

  4. Partial to the top, busier one myself. Just like visual clutter..the more, the merrier.

    1. Ha ha! Glad to know someone is partial to that one. I kind of like the first one best. :)

  5. I also think somehow that the busier one is more appropriate to the tone of the quote, you know, exaggerated or imaginative.... I love those aboriginal designs, too.

    1. Aw, thanks! I think that's what I was going for; showing little Hazel's vivid imagination!
